Taster day

Being arranged soon

NEW AGE KURLING - It’s new, it’s fun and anyone can do it!

New Age Kurling is about to take Portchester Community Centre by storm. Come along and see for yourself – better still, try it out! Join the New age Kurling free demonstration on February 28th between 2 and 4 p.m.

What is it? New Age Kurling was developed four years ago by a builder in Kent asked to devise a sport which his disabled son could play. The sport is now played in 32 countries and enjoyed by everyone of all ages and abilities, from toddlers to pensioners. Disabled people compete on a par with able-bodied people and you don’t have to be fit to play – thought it does make you fitter! Absolutely anyone can do it.

how kurling is done

Kurling can be done from a wheelchair without a problem.

Hampshire County Council will be sponsoring the demonstration and Portchester Community Association (which runs the Centre) is keen to set up a team to play in a Hampshire league.

If New Age Kurling doesn’t gab you, the Centre will also be running Taster sessions throughout the day in more conventional sports.....

Indoor Bowls,

Badminton,

and, also new to the Centre, Short Mat tennis.

Played at a pace and style to suit the inexperienced you can gain free tuition or just join in.

For further information, contact Mik Norman or Ken Scrivens at the Centre on 023 9221 0070
